I wish I had some clever ones on this list that intrigue you and which you’ve never heard of, but alas, I am a busy, sick woman with little money, time, or energy to explore the wonderful world of apps. So PLEASE- feel free to suggest any (free) awesome apps I should have!
Ever wonder how I track my fat, protein, and carbs daily? MyFitnessPal is a nutrition and exercise tracking app (that’s free!) that’s fairly easy to use on my iPhone, and syncs with my other fitness programs, like Virgin Pulse.
Well of course. I mean, I love and breathe my reading life on Goodreads. Mostly I use the app for on-the-go book wishlist adding, and checking friends’ wishlists if I find myself in the book store. Also for entering giveaways. The content is somewhat limited, because it’s an app, but I don’t care.
To think there was a time when I scoffed at IG and resisted this “stupid new social media obligation”. Ha. I’m on here more than Twitter and Facebook combined, as evidenced by how many of my Twitter posts come through Instagram. Y’all, I love seeing your photos. LOVE.
Have cell signal, will travel. And get lost. If it weren’t for Google Maps, I’d be taking the long way ’round, everywhere. I am always getting lost (I admit, sometimes on purpose) and this app keeps me on the trail. And (sometimes) aware of traffic and road hazards around me.
iPhone Reminders, a.k.a. my electronic brain. I have a pretty horrible memory, and this tool is basically my #1 tool for ensuring I don’t drop the ball with something. I love that you can see what you’ve marked as done, too, which makes me feel very accomplished.
What about you? What are your favorite apps?
I’m a coffee-fueled, hobby-addicted bibliophage who makes cruelty-free mineral eye shadows (inspired by novels). I’m usually in front of a screen (writing, reading, or gaming), but I’ve been known to emerge for geekery, good food, and dark chocolate.
