I sincerely doubt I’ll dress up for Halloween this year- no energy, sadly. But if I could (and maybe in the future I will), I would totally dress up as…
Inara Sera from Firefly and Serenity
Gorgeous gowns, luxe fabrics with an Eastern flair, rich colors, dripping with jewels, and always classy. She’s the gal with gorgeous duds. And even though nobody would have a clue who I was (unless I brought a Mal along), it’d be fun to be a siren in red for the evening.
Anna from Frozen
Can we talk for a second about the ADORABLE embroidery happening on her bodice, skirt, and boots? I would never take this outfit off. (and no, I don’t consider polyester Disney packaged costume up to snuff- I’d want the actual wool and linen).
Danaerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones
Who wouldn’t want to ride into the Halloween party dressed as the Mother of Dragons?! Plus, this is the best nonfunctional armor ever. Preeeeeeeeetty………
Tauriel from The Hobbit Trilogy
Green and brown (well, and gold) are my colors, yo. Plus, I’ve always wanted to be a redhead. And an elf. And wear a suede long coat with leather fashion armor over. And hey, I have a wooden recurve bow, so I’m partway there already!
River Song from Doctor Who
I’ve been wanting to cosplay River Song since the first time I saw her, and when my weight is down and my hair is light, I’ve been told I look like here (maybe it’s the eyes?). She’s a phenomenal character (especially in the days before her entire backstory became all about a man) so how could you not channel some of that attitude in her funky garb? All I’d need is a blue TARDIS-front journal and a smirk!
I’m a coffee-fueled, hobby-addicted bibliophage who makes cruelty-free mineral eye shadows (inspired by novels). I’m usually in front of a screen (writing, reading, or gaming), but I’ve been known to emerge for geekery, good food, and dark chocolate.
