Welcome back to another installment of my swatching series, where I compare Printcess shades of a specific color.
It can be difficult to tell the difference with some, unless they’re side by side. This is especially true for today’s chosen color: Red. And because I have some colors that straddle the link between red and dark pink (call them wine, burgundy, maroon, raisin, whatever), I’m swatching everything that could conceivably be considered red-ish.
I’ll also let you in on a little secret: having vegan-friendly, sensitive-skin-friendly eyeshadows means I can’t get a true red.
It’s true- nothing is a true red like carmine (made from animals) and artificial dyes (which I don’t allow in my eyeshadows). As a consequence, I get as close as I can in both matte and shimmer shadows, but sometimes I struggle for the right descriptor. Is that a raspberry? A clay red? Port wine? I need my Crayola box…
I’m a coffee-fueled, hobby-addicted bibliophage who makes cruelty-free mineral eye shadows (inspired by novels). I’m usually in front of a screen (writing, reading, or gaming), but I’ve been known to emerge for geekery, good food, and dark chocolate.
