Do you like Chai? Not just the Starbucks way-too-sweet-and-vanilla stuff, but actual chai? If so, it’s super simple, and inexpensive, to make your own. I got this recipe courtesy of Saffron Grill, in Seattle (if you’re ever visiting, it’s one of the best Indian restaurants in town- I highly recommend eating there).
- 4 cups water
- 2 tea bags (they recommend Orange Pekoe, I used Luzianne)
- 10 green cardamom pods (or crushed cardamom, if you can’t find green pods)
- 8 whole cloves
- 1/8 tsp fennel seed
- 4 cups milk
- Sugar to taste
